Cycling and walking

Brent River Park and the Capital Ring

The Brent River Park runs for 7 km along the Brent valley through Perivale, Greenford and Hanwell, with about 50 roadside entrances for walkers. Cycle paths run through parts of it, and a large part of the Capital Ring walking route in Ealing goes through the park. (Ealing Council)

The canal towpath

The Grand Union Canal towpath runs past the Hanwell flight of locks. FitzHerbert Walk links Brent Meadow on the Uxbridge Road to the towpath at the flight. (Ealing Council) If you cycle on the towpath, read the Canal & River Trust's advice and give way to people walking.

A short circular walk

Ealing Council's Elthorne Park and Waterside health walk is 3.2 km (about 2 miles) and starts at the main entrance to Elthorne Park on Boston Road. It goes round meadows, woodland and the canal, and the council says it isn't suitable for wheelchairs. Full directions: Ealing Council.
